Here is an overview of clubs that are available in the local area.

 

There are a range of support groups in the local area. Here are a few that may support the pastoral needs of your family. For more groups and activities, please also take a look at our Inclusion Page.

Cancer Care, Morecambe Bay All of the CancerCare centres in the area are re-opening on 1st Sept. If you have any questions or want to book in-person therapy call or email them. CancerCare Community Service Scheme offers a range of free complimentary services. These include bereavement counselling to anyone who has been bereaved including children (secondary school age pupils only at present whilst our centres are closed). 03330 150 628 (charged at standard rate)

Macmillan Cancer Support – MBHT Macmillan Information and Support Service Offering support over the phone to those affected by cancer. 9am-4pm Monday to Friday. Emotional & physical support and chats if you’re lonely. Referrals to other support services. The Cornerstone, Lancaster Offers Covid-safe meeting spaces, including through lockdown. Various support groups continue to function. The chaplain also offers one-to-one bereavement support by phone, Zoom or face-to-face. A support group based on the ’12 Steps’ will be meeting weekly on Zoom, starting at 5pm on Thursday November 26th.  All welcome.  Our men’s support group meets fortnightly on Zoom, usually on Wednesdays or Thursdays. The Well Communities Offering a range of peer support sessions addressing addiction to substances and alcohol, recovery and family support. Live feeds from Facebook for Q&A sessions re recovery, families, isolation and coping, recovery check ins, plus exercise, 5 ways to wellbeing and guest speakers. Tara Centre A Meditation centre in the heart of Lancaster – a not-for-profit healing sanctuary. Still offering online meditation & other classes supporting in particular people living on very little income or living with chronic health conditions. Challenge through Sport Initiative (CSI) Set up to encourage those in recovery and their families to participate in all levels of sport and activity. Out In The Bay We support the local 2SLGBTQI community with free advice around drug and alcohol misuse, sexuality, sexual health and gender identity. We hold specialist 1:1 sessions and support groups and training.
