Chinese for the Family

This term we are offering Chinese for the Family classes for children aged 6-11. These classes mix language, culture and crafts. We encourage parents or guardians to take part with their children. Beginner and advanced levels are available.

Suitable for: Primary School, beginners and those who have a little experience

Time: Wednesdays, 4.30-5.30pm

Dates: From 4 November to 9 December 2026, six weeks

Calligraphy Classes

Chinese calligraphy, shū fǎ, is “the rules of writing Han characters”. Chinese painting is known today as “guó huà”. They emphasize motion and are charged with a dynamic life. As the oldest continuous artistic traditions in the world, calligraphy and painting today are known and learned as important parts of traditional Chinese culture.

Suitable for:  KS4, KS5 and adults, no previous knowledge required

Time: Tuesdays, 6.15-7.45pm

Dates: From 13 October to 8 December 2026

Location: Lancaster University Confucius Institute (The Roundhouse)

 

Chinese Proficiency Test Preparation Classes for Children

We offer a range of classes to help you prepare.

YCT tests (for younger children) which are online

And HSK, HSKK (for 14+) which are in-person or online according to the course level.

GCSE Mandarin
